Having been delayed numerous times after the unfortunate insolvency of both the physical and the digital distribution partners of deepdub recordings – ELECTRIC KOOL AID – DAYS LIKE THIS [deepdub003] is finally released – out now exclusively on beatport.com and shop.deepdub.com (all other stores 25.02.2013).
Already getting support from the likes of Sander Kleinenberg, Solee, Andrew K, or even big-roomers like Paul Oakenfold and Markus Schulz – deepdub003 is packed with great and memorable dancefloor moments.
Electric Kool Aid‘s “Days Like This” original is a dreamy masterpiece of groovy tech-house. An utterly irresistible bassgroove paired with pushing percussion and that airy graincloud melancholia, is promising to lift the mature dancefloor to new emotional heights.
Reinterpreted by the brilliant collab of old time friends of the house Patrick Meißner and Bastian Heerhorst (the latter now rocking the global crowds with his massive electrohouse outfit “Fukkk Offf”) – their retweak clothes the lovingly recognizable “Days Like This” theme with their minimal techy Hamburg hallmark sound.
deepdub recordings‘ kingpins Smith & Burns revisitation moulds the piece into a melodic arpeggiator frenzy and has already become a secret weapon in the cases of numerous djs destined to get your bum moving and your face grinning.
In best deepdub tradition the release is once again rounded off with a chilled out version “Chill Like This” for professional tech-couching.
Although this is Electric Kool Aid‘s debut release – the person behind it is anything but new to the scene. Peer Schmid – the Smith in “Smith and Burns” – has previously released music under various guises and in diverse styles for a wide array of labels – resulting in a massive four dozen releases to his name so far. Apart from having proven his creative production and performance skills not only for his solo projects, he has also been producing other artists and DJs. Working independently in both label and artist management for over a decade now, Peer is also an established name behind the curtains of the underground music scene. Finally opening his vault of solo work – you’ll be stumbling across this name regularly in the future.
